Chivas USA looks ahead to next match on August 8 at Colorado

CHIVAS USA'S NEXT MATCH AT COLORADO ON AUG. 8; RED-AND-WHITE COME HOME AUG. 22: Chivas USA is currently in a break from game action, with nearly three weeks off before the team's next match, on Aug. 8 at the Colorado Rapids. Before that match, the team will be training at The Home Depot Center (see the team's schedule below for times and locations for the coming week). The match in Colorado will be the second of three straight road matches, a run that started this past Sunday with a 2-0 loss at the New England Revolution, and concludes on Aug. 15 at the New York Red Bulls. The team then returns home against Toronto FC on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. PT at The Home Depot Center. RED-AND-WHITE'S NEWEST MEMBER, MARCELO SARAGOSA, TO JOIN TEAM THURSDAY: Last week, Chivas USA acquired versatile midfielder Marcelo Saragosa in a trade with FC Dallas, with Atiba Harris joining the Texas club from the Red-and-White. Saragosa, a six-year veteran of Major League Soccer and product of the youth system of Brazilian powerhouse São Paulo FC (where he was teammates with current Chivas USA midfielder, Paulo Nagamura), will participate in his first training session with Chivas USA on Thursday at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. CHIVAS USA YOUTH SYSTEM PRODUCTS FLORES, MAYÉN AND ZAMORA JOIN U.S. U-20 NATIONAL TEAM: Chivas USA's Jorge Flores, Gerson Mayén, and Cesar Zamora have been selected to join the U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team by head coach Thomas Rongen for a 10-day training camp in Argentina, starting on Tuesday, July 21. The camp, which is the final gathering of the team before the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in September, will include two international games as part of the Copa Ciudad de Rosario, against Uruguay on July 27 and Australia on July 29. While this is Zamora's debut with the U.S. U-20 National Team, both Flores and Mayén have experience with the squad, having played in numerous camps and tournaments with the team in 2008 and 2009.

RED-AND-WHITE FALL IN TOUGH MATCH AT NEW ENGLAND ON SUNDAY: The Red-and-White dominated the first half against the New England Revolution on Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., but were unable to score, and ultimately gave up a pair of second-half goals en route to a 2-0 loss. Sasha Victorine had a pair of opportunities just miss, and Carey Talley had a great header saved by Revolution keeper Matt Reis, and New England's Kheli Dube and Steve Ralston scored in the second half to give the home team the win.
