(July 20, 2009) - Kansas City Wizards Midfielder Davy Arnaud has been selected to his first career MLS All-Star team by Houston Dynamo and 2009 All-Star Head Coach Dominic Kinnear, who completed the All-Star squad with his selections Monday. The MLS All-Stars take on English Premier League club Everton FC and United States international goalkeeper Tim Howard Wednesday, July 29 at 8:30 p.m. CT at Rio Tinto Stadium, home of Real Salt Lake. The match will be shown live on ESPN2 and Galavision. The Wizards will host a watch party for the match locally at Fox and Hound in Overland Park, sponsored by Budweiser.

Arnaud, 29, will enter next Wednesday's All-Star match with five goals and one assist in 13 MLS games. Arnaud has been with the U.S. National Team since July 1, taking part in three of four CONCACAF Gold Cup matches and registering his first international goal and first international assist. Arnaud has started the last two games for the United States and now has five career international appearances. He scored the opening goal in a 2-2 tie with Haiti in the final group-stage match July 11 and assisted on Kyle Beckerman's equalizer Saturday night in a 2-1 win over Panama to help the U.S. qualify for the semifinals this Thursday against Honduras and Wizards teammate Roger Espinoza.

Arnaud has been an extremely versatile player for Kansas City this season, starting at least one match at forward, right midfield, central midfield and left midfield. He has scored goals from forward, right midfield and central midfield positions. Arnaud has scored 37 goals and recorded 29 assists in an eight-year career, all of which has been spent in Kansas City. Both his 37 goals and 29 assists rank 3rd all-time in team history.
