Green Bay, Wis.- The Green Bay Bullfrogs fell behind early but battled back with a late rally in a 10-5 loss to the Lakeshore Chinooks on June 23 at Joannes Stadium.
The Bullfrogs had their three-game winning streak snapped, and Green Bay's record now stands at 14-12 on the season.
With one out in the top of the first inning, Lucas Raley connected on a three-run home run to left, which was followed by Doug Kraeger's solo shot to right-centerfield for back-to-back home runs.
The Bullfrogs loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning with a single for Mikey Duarte and a pair of walks but did not score.
Lakeshore rallied for five runs in the top of the fourth to take a 9-0 lead. The Chinooks sent 11 batters to the plate with four hits, two walks and a hit-by-pitch.
The Chinooks added another run in the top of the seventh with a sacrifice fly for Kyle Fiala, but Green Bay batted around in the bottom half of the inning to cut the lead in half.
The first six Bullfrogs' hitters reached base in the inning. The first out came via Desi Ammons' sacrifice fly to centerfield to plate the fifth run. Mikey Duarte singled up the middle to score a run, Danny Rosenbaum had a two-RBI double, and Ryan Donovan doubled deep into the rightfield corner to score another and make it a 10-5 game.
Green Bay loaded the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the ninth, but the game ended with a strikeout and a double play to the shortstop.
The Bullfrogs and Chinooks will finish their two-game series tomorrow night at 7:05 at Joannes Stadium for Fox Communities Credit Union Night with cash giveaway. Gates will open one hour prior to the first pitch.
