Ching Back In Town

February 22, 2006 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON, TX.- (Wednesday February 22, 2006) HOUSTON 1836 forward Brian Ching, who started for the U.S. man's national team, is back in town and ready to train with his teammates in preparations for the upcoming 2006 regular season that kicks off on April 2.

Brian Ching is ready for the 2006 season and to put a difficult 2005 that saw him miss 15 games with a hamstring injury behind him.

Ching, the only Hawaiian in Major League Soccer, was named to the RadioShack MLS Best XI team in 2004. Despite significant time on the sideline, Ching managed to score seven goals and register five assists in just 11 starts in 2005.

One of the biggest and toughest forwards in the league, the U.S. National Team player is prepared to lead HOUSTON 1836's offense and retain his place as one of the premier scoring threats in MLS in 2006.

Just last Sunday Ching shined once again at the international level in the 45th minute that sent the U.S. into the break with a two-goal lead in the first half. The U.S. National Team defeated Guatemala 4-0 at Pizza Hut Park, in Frisco, Texas, in an international friendly.

NOTE TO THE MEDIA: Members of the media that wish to interview Brian Ching about his debut at Pizza Hut Park, and about his preparation for the upcoming homeopener on April 2, call the Media Relations Department at 713-823-9607. Ching is expected to join the rest of his teammates on Thursday, February 23, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the University of Houston's Carl Lewis Track Field.
