Spokane Chiefs News Release

Derek Ryan, Ondrej Roman and Adam Hobson all scored first period goals for the Spokane Chiefs on their way to a 3-2 win over the Everett Silvertips in game three of the best-of-seven series. The win was the first for the Chiefs and makes it a 2-1 series with game four Wednesday night in Spokane.

The Chiefs scored on their first power play opportunity with an opportunistic Ryan tallying for the first time in the post-season. Roman's pass from the left circle, intended to go through the slot, was tipped and ended up on the stick of Ryan who snapped it in at 5:09. Drayson Bowman had the other assist.

Roman then scored his wrist goal of the playoffs with a wrist shot from the slot that beat Everett starter Leland Irving to the stick side at 13:48. Ryan and Bowman assisted on the play.

Adam Hobson then scored his third of the playoffs at 16:05 from Michael Grabner. The goal chased Irving from the game and brought in David Reekie, who didn't allow the Chiefs to score the remainder of the game.

The Chiefs and Tips each had eight shots in a scoreless second period and Everett's Dan Gendur scored his first of two in the third just 1:04 in. His second came at 18:49 with Reekie on the bench for an extra attacker and pulled the 'Tips to within one.

Chiefs starter Dustin Tokarski had 22 saves, including several key stops down the stretch to help preserve the win.

The Chiefs will host game four on Wednesday night in the Spokane Arena and guaranteed Spokane will travel to Everett on Friday for game five. Tickets are available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535- PUCK or TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.
