Allentown, PA - In their seventh one-run game of the season, the Chiefs emerged 3-2 winners over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Monday night. Syracuse scored one run in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to win their second game in a row against Lehigh Valley. Held to just one hit over the first five innings, the Chiefs started the offensive attack in the latter frames of the game.

Marvin Lowrance flied out to start the sixth, but Kevin Mench, Pete Orr, and Seth Bynum hit three straight singles to load the bases. Chris Duncan hit into a fielder's choice on a ground ball to second base to score Mench from third.

The first Lehigh Valley run came in the second inning on a solo home run from Dewayne Wise off of Syracuse starter J.D. Martin. The IronPigs scored again in the eighth on an RBI single from pinch hitter Melvin Dorta.
