
Chiefs Look to Snap Skid against Winterhawks at Home Wednesday

Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs host the Portland Winterhawks on Wednesday night for the first time since October. The teams last faced each other on January 29, a game that went to overtime, but ultimately resulted in a 4-3 loss for the Chiefs.
Rookie netminders Dawson Cowan and Cooper Michaluk have been putting on impressive performances in the crease this month, posting a combined 193 saves and .963 SV% over the last five games. Michaluk posted a career-high 49 saves against the Seattle Thunderbirds on February 5, while Cowan went a perfect 45-for-45 against the Red Deer Rebels on February 4 in his second WHL career shutout. In February, Cowan has a 0.97 GAA (2nd among WHL goalies) and Michaluk has a 1.96 (11th among WHL goalies).
