Spokane Chiefs News Release
SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs saw their seven-game home winning streak snapped on Friday night at Spokane Arena as they fell to the division-leading Everett Silvertips, 3-1.
Jack Finley put the Chiefs on the board late in the first period, punching in his fifth goal of the season to make it 1-0 at 18:19. Defenseman Tyson Feist centered the puck from the right corner and forward Cordel Larson occupied the Everett defenseman, allowing the puck to slide through to the waiting Finley on the backside.
Everett tied it up early in the second period as Gage Goncalves found a rebound created from a Sahvan Khaira point shot and snuck it around goaltender Bailey Brkin's right pad to make it 1-1.
The Silvertips earned their first lead of the night later in the second period as team captain Connor Dewar picked up his 25th of the season, scoring on the power play at 14:01. The Silvertips outshot the Chiefs 19-2 in the middle frame. Dewar added his second of the night on an empty net late.
Brkin finished the game with 40 saves on 42 shots faced as the Silvertips outshot the Chiefs 43-16. Spokane finished 0-for-4 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
