ICE Welcome 'Canes for Saturday Tilt in Cranbrook

Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE (8-23-5-1) welcome the Lethbridge Hurricanes (18-10-4-2) to Western Financial Place for the second time this season on Saturday, December 29.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.

Saturday's game is being dubbed ICE Clothing Drive Night presented by Northstar GM. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used clothing items to the game. Cash donations will be accepted as well. All donations will go towards the Salvation Army.

The ICE are coming off of a 4-1 loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday, December 28. Martin Bodak scored the lone goal of the game for the ICE, assisted by Jakin Smallwood. Goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 29-of-32 shots that came his way. The Tigers received two goals from James Hamblin and the others from Ryan Jevne and Ryan Chyzowski. The ICE were outshot 33-27. They went 0-for-4 on the power play, 2-for-3 on the penalty kill and won 36-of-60 face-offs.

The ICE have amassed 22 points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.

The ICE have a home record of 6-12-2-0.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes visit the Kootenay ICE for the second time this season on Saturday, December 29. The Hurricanes are in the middle of a three games in three days stretch. The 'Canes host the Medicine Hat Tigers on Sunday to finish off their busy weekend. The 'Canes enjoyed an 11-day Christmas break before hosting the Victoria Royals on Friday night. Heading into Saturday's game, the 'Canes are third in the Central Division and sixth in the Eastern Conference.

The Hurricanes are coming off of a 6-2 loss to the Victoria Royals on Friday, December 28. The 'Canes received goals from Jordy Bellerive and Calen Addison. Bellerive and Jake Leschyshyn picked up two points in the game. Both 'Canes goaltenders received playing time, with Carl Tetachuk stopping 17-of-22 and Reece Klassen blocking 6-of-7. The 'Canes outshot the Royals 32-29. They went 0-for-3 on the power play, 2-for-4 on the penalty kill and won 33-of-64 face-offs.

The Hurricanes have collected 42 points this season, which is good for third in the Central Division and sixth in the Eastern Conference.
