Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs came out flat against the red-hot Everett Silvertips Wednesday night, losing 9-3.

The Silvertips dominated the first period, scoring three unanswered goals in the second half of the frame - first by Austin Roest at 10:53, followed by Kaden Hammell at 17:48 and finally Jackson Berezowski's first of four on the night with just six seconds left.

Spokane got on the board at 7:09 in the second as Berkly Catton capitalized on the man advantage to score his 11th goal of the season. Ty Cheveldayoff and Cade Hayes earned assists on the play.

Kooper Gizowski added on at 12:15 with a missile from the slot for his eighth of the year after picking up the feed from Tommaso De Luca. Defenseman Saige Weinstein also earned an assist on the play. The goal brought the Chiefs within one before Berezowski notched his second of the night at 15:08 to bring it to 4-2 at second intermission.

Everett blew the game open in the third period, starting with three back-to-back goals before the halfway mark - from Roan Woodward, Berezowski and Oren Shtrom.

Cheveldayoff picked up a backhand feed from De Luca at the left circle and found the twine for the 15th time this season at 9:33. Defenseman Ben Bonni also earned an assist on the play.

But the Silvertips weren't done piling on, and Berezowski wasn't satisfied with his hat trick, adding his fourth of the night at 10:28. Cooper Michaluk came in to replace Dawson Cowan in goal, but Dexter Whittle capped the scoring at 10:59 to bring the final to 9-3.

Spokane went 1-for-2 on the power play and 1-for-3 on the penalty kill. They outshot Everett, 32-25.

Up next, the Chiefs will hit the road this weekend to face the Vancouver Giants on Friday and the Kamloops Blazers on Saturday.
