Kamloops Blazers' Shea Van Olm battles Vancouver Giants' Connor Dale

Kamloops, BC - The Giants found themselves in a deep hole, but got back into the game in the third period. Unfortunately, it was too little, too late.
1st Period:
KAM: Caedan Bankier opened the scoring 3:53 into the game on a wrist shot from the high slot that Giants goaltender Jesper Vikman had no chance of seeing.
KAM: Logan Stankoven added to the Blazer lead 10:10 later on a rush goal that was challenged for offside, but the goal was upheld.
KAM: Daylan Kuefler buried a power play goal just 1:08 later to bring the score to 3-0 Kamloops.
2nd Period:
KAM: Kuefler fired home his second of the night 2:34 into the second period.
KAM: Aapo Sarell brought the game to 5-0 with a top corner shot with 2:07 left in the middle frame.
3rd Period:
VAN: Newly minted captain Ty Thorpe got the Giants on the board with a power play goal 3:31 into the third.
VAN: Ty Halaburda followed that up with a goal of his own before the period was five minutes old.
VAN: Thorpe wrapped around his second of the night at the 10:32 mark to bring Vancouver within two.
KAM: Olen Zellweger iced the game with an empty netter in his Blazers debut with 1:41 remaining in the game.
