
Chiefs Cruise By Royals For Third Straight Time

The Johnstown Chiefs used a strong first period to skate to a 5-2 win over the Reading Royals. The Chiefs got goals from Steve Hildenbrand and Brent Kelly on the power play and an even strength goal by Dominic Forget to take a 3-0 lead to the lockerroom after 20-minutes of hockey. Jay Langager recorded two assists in the first period while PL Courchesne, Brent Bilodeau and Chris Leinweber recorded assists in the first stanza.
The Royals cut into the lead in the second period on a Lars Pettersen power play goal assisted by Nick Lent and Judd Medak, but the Chiefs answered with two more tallies following the Royals marker by Chris Leinweber and Jay Langager to extend their lead to 5-1. Reading would finish the scoring in the period with a Graig Mischler goal from Jon Zion and David Masse.
Johnstown remains perfect at home against Reading at 4-0-0 on the season. The Chiefs lead the season series 4-2 with four meeting remaining in the Sovereign Center in Reading.
