Spokane Chiefs News Release

Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs have acquired a third-round pick in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft from the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for 2004-born defenseman Layton Feist.

"With us having six 20-year-olds and league rules allowing teams to only keep three, we felt this was a good opportunity for Layton in his 20-year-old season," General Manager Matt Bardsley said. "We thank Layton for all he has done for the Spokane Chiefs organization."

Feist played 62 games for Spokane after being acquired from the Regina Pats last season in exchange for defenseman Jaren Brinson, a third-round pick in 2024, and a second-round pick in 2025. Feist tallied seven goals and 26 assists for 33 points in a Chiefs sweater, scoring two goals in three playoff games. In 226 career games, he has logged 92 total points on 24 goals and 68 assists.

The Dawson Creek, B.C. native was originally a first-round pick (17th overall) by the Regina Pats in 2019.
