Chicago Sky to select four players in WNBA Rookie Draft

CHICAGO - The Chicago Sky will select four college players in the 2007 WNBA Draft in Cleveland on Wednesday, April 4. The Chicago Sky coaching staff, including general manager and head coach Bo Overton, along with assistant coaches Stephanie White, Steven Key and Roger Reding, will participate in the draft from the Sky offices via teleconference beginning at noon (CDT). Sky principal owner Michael Alter and CEO Margaret Stender will also participate.

Members of the media are invited to watch the draft live on ESPN2 and NBA TV with Chicago Sky staff and Sky forward Amanda Lassiter. Coach Overton, Alter and Stender will be available for throughout the draft.

The Chicago Sky has the third and tenth picks in the first round of the draft, having recently acquired the tenth by trading Chelsea Newton to the Sacramento Monarchs. The Sky will select seventh in the second round and first in the third and final round. ESPN2 will provide exclusive first-round coverage of the draft, with continued coverage of the second and third rounds on ESPNU and NBA TV. In addition, WNBA.com will provide complete analysis and comprehensive coverage throughout all three rounds. The WNBA's Pre-Draft Camp takes place March 30 at Cleveland State University's Woodling Gym, followed by the draft on April 4 at the Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland's Public Square.

The Chicago Sky begins pre-season play on May 2, opening its 34-game regular season in New York on May 20 and at home on May 22 at the UIC Pavilion.
