
Chicago Sky Signs La Rabida Patient to One-Day Contract

CHICAGO, IL - La Rabida Children's Hospital is teaming up with Chicago Sky to host a player for the day. The Chicago Sky will sign Byance, a 14-year-old patient at La Rabida to a one-day contract today (Sept. 17, 2021) when the Sky hosts the Las Vegas Aces at Wintrust Arena. The Sky, in partnership with La Rabida Children's Hospital, will host Byance and her family for the day and fulfill her dream of being a professional basketball player.
Byance, who was recently diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome, will join the Sky on Friday for pregame warm-ups and accompany the team in the locker room and on the bench. Byance's mother said they are very excited to be part of this special day.
