Chicago Red Stars Release Forward Brenna Lovera

CHICAGO - The Chicago Red Stars today announced the release of forward, Brenna Lovera.

Lovera joined the Red Stars this preseason as a non-roster invitee and was signed to a replacement player contract in March 2023. Lovera earned her first start for the team during the Red Star's UKG Challenge Cup match against the Houston Dash Wednesday, May 3. During that match, Lovera played 76 minutes, won three ariel duels and ranked in the top five of Red Stars in tackles won and chances created.

Prior to joining the Red Stars, Lovera played for Icelandic club, Selfoss and played at Northwestern University. At Northwestern, the Michigan native played 74 matches, started in 57, scored 19 goals and recorded seven assists. The Red Stars thank Brenna for her contributions to the team this season and wish her the best of luck in her next endeavors.
