
Angel City Football Club Signs National Team Replacement Players Ahead of 2023 Women's World Cup

LOS ANGELES - Today, Angel City Football Club (ACFC)announced that the team has signed defenders Elizabeth Eddy and Kelsey Hill as National Team Replacement Players (NTRP) ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Elizabeth Eddy, originally from Newport Beach, California, was selected in the 2014 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Draft by the Western New York Flash, helping them win the 2016 NWSL Championship. She has since played for the North Carolina Courage, Sky Blue FC, NJ/NY Gotham FC, and the Houston Dash. She has also spent time playing internationally in 2020 for Vittsjö of Damallsvenskan in Sweden, and most recently in 2021-2022 with New Castle of the A-league in Australia.
"This is such a blessing that this door opened for me," stated Eddy. "I'm super thankful for the opportunity that the coaching staff and GM have offered. I'm really excited to be close to my family and play in front of my hometown for the first time since my time at USC."
Eddy, is a graduate of University of Southern California (USC), where she appeared in 76 career matches, recording 16 goals and nine assists for the Trojans. While at USC, Eddy was a dual-sport athlete in both soccer and lacrosse. She also stands at No. 10 all-time in career goals scored for USC, earning All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention, 2010 Pac-10 All-Freshman Team, 2013 Pac-12 Player of the Week, and 2013 USD All-Tournament Team honors.
Kelsey Hill, originally from Elk Grove, California and a recent graduate of Pepperdine University, has been training with the club since the beginning of the season. She appeared on ACFC's preseason roster during their exhibition match against Club América Femenil on March 8 at BMO Stadium.
"It has been amazing," said Hill. "Being with the players and the coaching staff has helped me grow so much. This has been a huge opportunity for me, being able to see the work I have put in pay off is really gratifying and I am so excited."
While at Pepperdine, Hill appeared in 40 career matches for the Waves, earning four goals and one assist. In 2021, she was named West Coast Conference (WCC) player of the week and also earned 2017 WCC All-Freshman team honors.
