HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL - The Chicago Mustangs, proud members of the Major Arena Soccer League (www.MASLSoccer.com), defeat the Detroit Waza, 10-6, on December 19th.
The first quarter of the game started with both teams sharing equal possession of the ball. At 11:00, the Chicago Mustangs' Joshio Sandoval buries the rebound off of Miguel Vaca's shot. Then Chicago's Ricardo Carvalho volleys his own rebound into the top right corner of the net. At 13:10, the Waza get their first goal of the game. The quarter comes to a close with Chicago leading Detroit 2-1.
The Detroit Waza score the first goal of the second quarter at 1:10 but the Mustangs respond quickly with another rebound goal by Ricardo Carvalho, 3-2. After some fancy footwork, Miguel Vaca finds Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista in the middle of the goal, who one-times it into the back of the net at 5:20. Chicago celebrates again with Luis Barajas' first goal of the game at 13:51. The first half ends with Chicago leading Detroit 5-2.
The Chicago Mustangs return from halftime with patience and holding good possession. At 6:17, Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista scores a goal with an assist from Efrain "Wilo" Martinez at 6:17. At 7:09, Detroit scores their first goal of the quarter. Alexis Camarena scores his first goal of the game at 7:52. Then Detroit responds with a goal at 12:02. Efrain "Wilo" Martinez ends the quarter with his first goal of the game, ending the quarter with Chicago leading Detroit 8-5.
The fourth quarter starts with Chicago's Taylor Bond scoring his first goal of the game with an assist by goalkeeper Jesus Flores at 4:34, bringing the game to 9-5. At 7:11, Edwin Leon Rojas takes advantage of the empty net and puts one away from his own half, 10-5. At 10:45, Detroit scores a goal. The game ends in another win for the Chicago Mustangs, 10-6.
