CHICAGO, IL (July 12, 2010) - The Chicago Fire are participating in a series of community events across the Chicagoland area this week. Throughout the year, the Fire participate in hundreds of community events to work with youth, charities and other organizations to promote the game of soccer by advocating wellness, healthy lifestyle choices, physical activities and education.
This week's events feature Chicago Fire mascot Sparky competing against his furry mascot friends at the Chicago Sky Mascot day during the halftime of Chicago Sky vs. San Antonio Silver Stars game on Wednesday, July 14. Chicago Fire players Wilman Conde and Marco Pappa, in addition to players from Monarcas Morelia and Fire mascot Sparky will be offering a FREE soccer clinic at the Community Soccer Series on Thursday, July 15. Last but not least, Fire mascot Sparky will be featured at AccessChicago 2010 on Thursday, July 15; and at Summit Golden Eagles Soccer Tournament on Sunday, July 18.

Chicago Sky Mascot Day
Who: Chicago Fire Mascot Sparky

What: Join Fire mascot Sparky for AccessChicago, the Midwest's Largest Expo for People with Disabilities on Thursday July 15. The only event of its kind, AccessChicago is FREE and open to the public! Click here for more information!
Community Soccer Series: Clinic 3
Who: Chicago Fire players Wilman Conde and Marco Pappa, in addition to players from Monarcas Morelia; and Fire mascot Sparky
When: Thursday, July 15; 3:30 - 5:30 PM CT
Where: Rauner Family YMCA - 2700 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL 60608
What: The Chicago Fire Soccer Club in conjunction with Monarcas Morelia will be offering a FREE soccer clinic for 200 children ages 7-14. Participants of the Community Soccer Clinic will receive skills training featuring soccer drills, technique instruction, and mini-games as well as an exclusive Q&A and autograph session with Chicago Fire players; and a Community Soccer Series t-shirt. Space is limited.
Summit Golden Eagles Soccer Tournament
Who: Chicago Fire Mascot Sparky
When: Sunday, July 18; 12:30 - 2:00 PM CT
Where: Summit Park District - 5700 S. Archer Ave., Summit, IL 60501
What: Fire Mascot Sparky will be handing out awards to participating teams at the Summit Golden Eagles Soccer Tournament. Make sure to come out and have the chance to experience good soccer with good times!
