
Chicago Fire Host SuperLiga; Manchester United to Train at Toyota Park

The Fire step out of MLS play to host SuperLiga 2010, an international tournament which pits top soccer teams from Mexico and the United States against each other for local bragging rights and one of the biggest purses in the region the tournament. The Fire kick off SuperLiga against Monarcas Morelia at TOYOTA PARK on Wednesday, July 14 at 8:30 PM CT (TeleFutura).
The Fire return to SuperLiga for the second consecutive year after falling to Tigres UANL in the 2009 championship match at TOYOTA PARK. Under the management of Mexican Head Coach Carlos de los Cobos, the Fire will look to improve upon their runner up status as they face off against Monarcas Morelia for the third time since their meeting in the 2002 CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals and Pumas UNAM, who are competing in their first SuperLiga to date.
The Fire will take on Eastern Conference rival New England Revolution at TOYOTA PARK at 6:00 PM CT (TeleFutura) in the first match of Saturday's doubleheader. Monaracas Morelia and Pumas UNAM will round out the full evening of soccer when the two Mexican squads go head-to-head at 8:30 PM CT.

Chicago Fire vs. Monarcas Morelia
* Monarcas Morelia was a semifinalist of the Bicentenario 2010 tournament and will look to continue its good form this summer when it participates in the 2010 edition of SuperLiga.
* The squad, commanded by Head Coach Tomás Juan Boy, features Mexican internationals Miguel Sabah and Jaime Lozano.
* Morelia participated in SuperLiga 2007 and has participated in the prestigious Copa Libertadores on two different occasions.
Chicago Fire vs. New England Revolution
* The Fire defeated the Revs 2-1 in last season's SuperLiga semifinals at Gillette Stadium. Brian McBride and Cuauhtémoc Blanco tallied to propel the Fire into the SuperLiga finals against Tigres UNAL.
* Just three weeks ago, the Fire defeated the Revolution 1-0 at Gillette Stadium. Marco Pappa's 25-yard bomb proved the difference as the Fire defense employed a bend, but not break mentality for the last 20 minutes of the tightly contested match.
2010 MLS All-STAR FIRST XI TO BE ANNOUNCED TUESDAY ON ESPNNEWS
The 2010 MLS All-Star First XI will be announced tomorrow, Tuesday, July 13, at 2:40 PM CT on ESPNews.
The MLS All-Star First XI consists of the 11 MLS players that received the most votes from fans, players, coaches and general managers, and media with one-fourth of the total vote coming from each of those four groups. The MLS First XI will be joined by the coaches' picks and Commissioner's selections to complete the 2010 MLS All-Star roster.
In the 15th annual midsummer event, the MLS All-Stars will face the 2009 English Premier League champions Manchester United in the 2010 AT&T MLS All-Star Game at Reliant Stadium, in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, July 28 (live on ESPN2 and TeleFutura at 7:30 PM CT).
SUPERLIGA SCHEDULE AT TOYOTA PARK AND GROUP B ROSTERS
The fourth edition of SuperLiga kicks off this week, the annual competition between four teams from the Primera División of Mexico and four teams from Major League Soccer of the United States and Canada, the top divisions in each nation.
