Crestwood, IL- The Cook County Cheetahs (3-5) beat the River City Rascals (2-8) tonight 4-3. The winning pitcher for the Cheetahs was Mike Ott (1-0) who pitched two innings in relief of starter Kris Regas. Right fielder Mark Walker scored the winning run for the Cheetahs in the bottom of the eighth inning on a passed ball. Pitcher Wes Jaillet (0-1) took the loss for River City.
"It was a good game. We made the adjustments that were needed, and we had good base running," said Cheetah Manager Mike Moore. "Their starter did a good job keeping us off balance with his curve ball. We will now try to keep this going and get a winning streak started."
The Cheetahs have a quick turn around tomorrow as they play the River City Rascals again at 12:05 p.m. For ticket information call 708-489-2255.
