Kalamazoo Kings News Release
Back into action today, Tuesday June 3, 2003, the Kings welcomed the Evansville Otters to Kalamazoo. Looking to snap a four game losing streak for the Kings, RHP David McWatters 1-0 took the hill. McWatters allowed four runs in an impressive complete game nine-strikeout effort. The Kings impressive offense against Evansville was lead by outfielders Chris Carter and Mark Morris. Carter went 4-4 with 2 RBIs, 2 runs and 2 stolen bases. Extending his hitting streak, Morris added 3 hits and 1 RBI, including a solo HR(2) to lead things off for the kings.
Nine runs were more than enough for McWatters and the rest of the Kings defense to capture their fifth victory of the season. Evansville had four runs on eight hits against McWatters, as well as two errors. The Kings and Otters go at it again tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. at Homer Stryker Field for Kalamazoo Public Elementary School Day.
