Windy City ThunderBolts News Release
Crestwood, IL- The Cook County Cheetahs (10-10) beat the Kalamazoo Kings (8-15) 6-2 this evening in front of the largest crowd, 1,778, the Cheetahs have had this season. Center fielder Mark Walker extended his home hitting streak to eight games. Grant Williams, the Cheetahs starting pitcher, pitched all nine innings this evening improving his record to 3-2 on the season. Williams only surrendered one earned run. Kings starting pitcher Denny McGee (1-5) took the loss, going seven plus innings, and giving up four runs.
"We did a good job of situational hitting. We were able to lie off the curve ball, and did a good job of attacking the fastball. The guys made the necessary adjustments in the batters box to put some hits together. Our base runners did a great job. It was a good game and I hope we continue this tomorrow," said Cheetahs Manager Mike Moore.
The Cheetahs will play the Kalamazoo Kings tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. For tickets call 708-489-2255.
