Checkers Stumble in 4-2 Loss to Bridgeport
November 11, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Charlotte Checkers News Release
BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Checkers couldn't carry their momentum from last night's victory in Sunday's tilt with the Sound Tigers, falling 4-2 to close out a busy three-in-three weekend.
The home squad staked an early lead with a pair of first-period goals, but the Checkers responded with two of their own in the middle frame to knot the score heading into the third. The Sound Tigers snatched back the momentum in the final frame, however, with Connor Jones finishing off a slick feed from Josh Ho-Sang less than two minutes into the period to regain Bridgeport's lead.
Playing their third game in as many days, the Checkers couldn't muster up a comeback, pushing hard but failing to put anything else behind Christopher Gibson, who finished the night with 28 saves and a win over Charlotte.
