
Checkers Ready For Inaugural Fashion Show

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers are holding an inaugural fashion show to benefit Goodwill on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Renaissance Charlotte SouthPark Hotel.
Dusty Jamieson, Nathan Gillies and other Checkers players will don clothes supplied by Goodwill while the CheckMates cheerleaders will slip into ladies attire during the event. Also, on hand to show off clothing will be models from the Barbizon Modeling and Talent Agency.
All the clothing modeled will be up for auction at the event. Players and CheckMates will be available to sign autographs all evening and will mingle with attendees. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show beings at 7:00 p.m. Heavy hor d'oeuvers and two wine beverages will be included with each ticket purchased for the event. "By bringing our two organizations together, we hope to create awareness of the work Goodwill does in the local community. While Goodwill's mission is to provide job training and employment services, we are best known for our retail stores. The fashion show will showcase the high-quality, attractive and affordable clothing that you can find at a Goodwill store."

The Checkers began their 15th season of play as a member of the ECHL. The next home game takes place on Nov. 23 against the Texas Wildcatters. In the team's 14-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 10 times including three consecutive playoff appearances to date. The Checkers will enter their third season of play at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena this fall. Season tickets are on sale now with full-season packages starting at just $399.
