Checkers Ford and Taylor Called Up to Wolf Pack

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League announced today that they have called up forwards Mike Taylor and Matthew Ford from the Charlotte Checkers.

Taylor, 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, was signed by the Wolf Pack this off-season and started the year playing eight games scoring two goals and two assists for four points. After being sent to Charlotte, the Maple Grove, Minn. native dressed in 35 games scoring nine goals and 13 assists for 22 points. Taylor spent his collegiate career with Harvard University where he played in 125 games scoring 29 goals and 41 assists for 70 points.

Ford, 6-foot-1, 207 pounds, was an 8th round selection of the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2004 National Hockey League Entry Draft. He has played a total of 21 games for the Checkers this season and leads the team in goals scored with 16 while acquiring 15 assists for 31 points which is second overall on the squad. This call-up marks the second stint Ford will have with the Pack this season as he previously suited up in 12 games scoring one goal.
