ANCHORAGE, Alaska - In a classic that remained scoreless through 65 minutes, Jean-Philippe Lamoureux out-dueled Todd Ford in the shootout, giving Alaska a 1-0 win and a sweep of its three-game series with Victoria at Sullivan Arena.

Before a Saturday night crowd of 5,117, the Aces and Salmon Kings battled on even terms through 40 minutes, firing 17 shots apiece, before Victoria took 12 of the third period's 15 shots on goal. Lamoureux recorded 31 saves to keep the game 0-0, helped out by Alaska's top-ranked penalty kill, which erased all seven chances for the visitors. The Salmon Kings stopped all six power plays for the Aces, including one that extended into overtime. Ford completed his 65 minutes of work with 23 stops.

In the shootout, Curtis Billsten beat Lamoureux top shelf in the third round, but Luke Erickson countered in the same frame and Alexandre Imbeault scored on a backhander in the fourth. Lamoureux stopped former Ace Olivier Filion in the fifth round to secure the victory, Alaska's third straight, and pull his team within eight points of the West Division leaders, now 26-10-4.

The Aces (23-14-2) will be well-represented at the upcoming ECHL All-Star Game on Wednesday, with Lamoureux (a league-leading 18 wins), defenseman Matt Shasby, and winger Colin Hemingway all in the starting lineup. The game itself will be broadcast live on B2 Networks at 3:00 p.m. ADT, with the Skills Competition being held the day before on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. ADT.

Alaska returns to ECHL competition next Friday at Bakersfield, with the face-off scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ADT. The Aces play the next night in Stockton at 6:30 p.m. ADT. Both games will be broadcast live on KFQD AM 750, with the Peanut Farm Pre-Game Show getting underway 15 minutes prior to the opening puck drop.
