
Checkers Break For Four Days for ECHL All-Star Game

(Charlotte, NC - Sunday, January 18)- The Charlotte Checkers and ECHL member teams will have a four-day break as the league stages the 2004 ECHL Par-A-Dice All-Star Game and Skills Competition on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 20 & 21 in Peoria, Illinois. Checkers left wing Dusty Jamieson will represent Charlotte on the ice for the Eastern Conference All-Stars while Tom Severance will handle the equipment managing duties for the Eastern Conference. The game will be carried "live" on the National Hockey League's "Center Ice" cable package.
Jamieson will also participate in the Skills Competition on Tuesday, January 20. Dusty will be a part of the ITECH Rapid Fire competition, joining Greenville's Chris Lynch to shoot against Idaho goalkeeper Dan Ellis. Jamieson will also compete in the ITECH "Breakaway Relay," once again being matched against Idaho's Ellis.
The Checkers will send out a complete report on the outcome of the various events in the Skills Competition and results of the All-Star game, and fans may also access complete information on the team website at www.gocheckers.com. The ECHL Board of Governors will also meet in Peoria in conjunction with the All-Star game festivities. Checkers President Jeff Longo will represent Charlotte as the teams' Governor at the meetings.
The Checkers will get back to action this Friday night as they open up a three-game homestand by hosting the Greensboro Generals at 7:30 p.m at Cricket Arena. Charlotte will host the Greenville Grrrowl the following night, Saturday, January 24 at 7:30 p.m., also at Cricket Arena.

Individual game tickets for the 2003-04 season are priced at $7.00 for balcony seats, $10.00 for end mezzanine seats, $12.00 for side mezzanine seats, $15.00 for circle seats, and $20.00 for box seats.
