Charlotte FC Midfielder Ben Bender Named to Major League Soccer's 22 Under 22 List

CHARLOTTE - Charlotte FC today announced Ben Bender was named to Major League Soccer's 22 Under 22 for the 2022 season. Bender, the first overall pick in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of Maryland, came in at #18.

Bender has scored three goals and added a team-leading six assists for the Crown during his rookie season.

To be eligible, players have to remain 21 or younger before the end of the 2022 MLS regular season, which is Decision Day on Oct. 9. Or in other words, they must be born on/after Oct. 10, 2000.

Charlotte FC is off this week during the international break but returns home on October 1 for a pivotal match against Eastern Conference leading Philadelphia Union. The Upper Bowl of Bank of America Stadium will be open for Fan Appreciation with tickets starting at $15.
