Charlie Stephens Latest Recall by Colorado Avalanche

HERSHEY – The HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with the Colorado Avalanche that center Charlie Stephens has been recalled by the NHL club. The recall of Stephens to Denver is the fifth player that has been recalled by the Avalanche in the last seven days. Previously, left wing Brad Larsen, center Steve Moore, left wing Travis Brigley and defenseman D.J. Smith have been recalled since October 21.

At the time of recall, Stephens was tied for the HERSHEY club lead in scoring with seven points. His three goals rank second on the team, and he also led the BEARS in multi-point games with three. He is expected to be available for coach Tony Granato when the Avalanche play the Calgary Flames Tuesday night at Pepsi Center in Denver.

The BEARS return to action this Saturday when the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins come to town for a 7:00 p.m. game at GIANT Center. HERSHEY will also play at home on Sunday afternoon for the first meeting of the season with the Philadelphia Phantoms at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.
