Pirates Recall Louis Robitaille

PORTLAND, ME - The Portland Pirates on Wednesday recalled defenseman Louis Robitaille (LOO-ee ROE-bih-ty) from the Quad City Mallards, the Washington Capitals' affiliate in the United Hockey League. Robitaille is expected to join the Pirates when they play the Worcester IceCats in Worcester tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. It's the first of three games in four nights for the Pirates this week.

Robitaille played for the Capitals in the NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan and for the Pirates during their training camp in September. He appeared in all four pre-season games for the Pirates, earning no points and 19 penalty minutes. In two games with the Mallards this year, the native of Montreal, Quebec has one assist and 10 penalty minutes.

Following Wednesday's game, the Pirates will be at home the next night to host the Norfolk Admirals at 7:05 p.m. Kids in their Halloween costumes may be chosen to participate in an on-ice candy scramble for $250. Adults who also come in costume may participate in an apple-bobbing contest for $250. During the first intermission, an employee of IWORX will take one shot at the net for $30,000. On Saturday, November 1st, the Pirates will once again host the Admirals at 7:05 p.m. The first 2,000 fans to the game will receive a free travel mug from Dunkin' Donuts. Tickets for both home games are on sale all week at the Cumberland County Civic Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.
