OMAHA, NE. - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) have announced the acquisition of Forward, Nick Pierre and future considerations from the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in exchange for Forward, Charlie Lurie and future considerations.

Nick Pierre (2004), of Cottage Grove, Minnesota is moving back into the USHL's western conference in his third full-time season in the league.

The Musketeers managed to make the western conference final in the shortened playoff stretch (due to COVID-19), before falling to the Clark Cup finalist, Fargo Force.

Pierre picked things up in Sioux City in the 2021-22 season, with tacking on over a point every other game in the regular season with 33 points (17G-16A-33P) in 60 games played, leading the Musketeers to a first round bye with a stellar record of 41-16-4-1. He also managed to tally five points (3G-2A-5P) in ten playoff games that year, including scoring the game-winning goal in game four of the Clark Cup Final in overtime against the Madison Capitols to capture Sioux City's fourth cup in team history.

In the current season, the Merrimack commit played 16 games with the Musketeers, grabbing two goals and an assist before being traded to the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. During his time in the eastern conference, he rallied up five goals and three assists through 21 games played, as the RoughRiders sit in sixth place in the east with a record of 20-17-4-3.

Prior to his USHL experience, Pierre picked up an impressive 46 points (19G-27A-46P) in 25 games with Hill-Murray School in the 2019-20 season.

Charlie Lurie (2003), of Minnetonka, Minnesota is heading back to the eastern conference, after playing half of the 2021-22 season with the Youngstown Phantoms.

Lurie made his USHL debut on December 12th, 2020 with the Fargo Force in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Sioux Falls Stampede. He would only go on to play three more games with the Force until the following season.

The 2021-22 season was Lurie's first full-time season in the USHL as he picked up 18 points (7G-11A-18P) in the first 27 games of the year with Fargo, before being traded to the Youngstown Phantoms for the remainder of the season.

With the Phantoms, the University of Nebraska-Omaha commit racked up 21 points (8G-13A-21P) in 34 games played as the Phantoms cracked 4th place in the eastern conference before falling in the first round of the playoffs to the Madison Capitols.

In the summer of 2022, the 5-foot-11, 191 pound forward was acquired by Omaha in a July trade deal where he played in 42 regular season games this season, the most games played with a single club in his USHL career. He found himself averaging 0.57 points per game with 24 points (11G-13A-24P) in those 42 games played.

The Lancers wish Charlie the best of luck in Cedar Rapids and in his future playing at the University of Nebraska-Omaha!
