Grand Rapids Drive News Release

Grand Rapids - Feb. 21, 2015 - The Canton Charge (20-15) used a strong defensive effort to earn a road win against the Grand Rapids Drive (16-16) on Saturday Night, 96-83. Canton has now won six out of their last seven games.

The 83 points allowed by Canton marked their best defensive showing since January 24. They held the Drive to just 43 percent from the field and 24 percent from three-point range.

The Drive did not make a three-pointer until midway through the fourth quarter, while the Charge made 40 percent of their attempts from deep on the game.

The Charge jumped out to a 15-point lead after the first quarter. The Drive actually outscored them from that point on, but were unable to mount a serious challenge to get the lead.

Stephen Holt was a focal point of the Charge's offense, leading all players with 24 points. Brandon Paul added 23 points and Arinze Onuaku scored 15 points with 11 rebounds.

Willie Reed was a bright spot for the home team, as the All-Star had another double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Adonis Thomas was the Drive's leading scorer with 21 points.

Canton is in action again on Tuesday in Delaware for an 11 a.m. game. The Drive will head to Fort Wayne on Sunday to rematch the Mad Ants, who they defeated on Sunday night.
