
Charge Defeat Legends for First Franchise Win

Frisco, TX DEC. 3, 2011 - The Texas Legends Booker Woodfox poured in 23 points off the bench, but the Canton Charge simply outmuscled Texas 108-87 for the Charge's first franchise win. Missing big man Jamal Sampson with a sprained ankle, the Legends were unable to defend the glass as Canton won the rebounding battle 45-36.
Canton had five players in double figures, but once again their leading man was Tyrell Biggs with 24 points and 9 rebounds. As a team the Charge clicked on all cylinders both offensively and defensively, shooting 53.8% from the field, while holding the Legends to 38.6% shooting on the night.
Vance Cooksey provided 15 points and 8 assists for Texas, but turned the ball over 7 times in the process. Ron Allen had his best game of the season grabbing 9 boards for the Legends and contributing 12 points. Texas struggled from the outside making two of 18 from long distance, both makes coming at the hands of Booker Woodfox.
Matt Rogers had six points and two rebounds for the Legends, but left the game with an injury in the second half. Short-handed the Legends were unable to keep pace with the Charge who scored a season high 108 points against Texas.
The Legends (1-3) will travel to Reno (1-4) on December 9th to face a team led by former Dallas Mavericks second round draft pick Nick Fazekas.
Canton (1-2) finishes their four game home stand with Fort Wayne coming to town on Wednesday 7th.
