Reno Bighorns News Release
RENO, NEV.- The Reno Bighorns were primed to win their home opener against the Bakersfield Jam Friday night, but the Jam overcame a 10-point fourth quarter deficit to take the game. Blake Ahearn led all players with 26 points and added 6 assists. The Jam were led by guard Osiris Eldridge with his 23 points and five assists. Cedric Bozeman had 21 points for the Bighorns, while Nick Fazekas chipped in 19 points of his own.
The game marked the first home game under the new local ownership, Bighorns Basketball, LLC. The owners addressed the crowd of over 3,200 before the game and provided encouraging words for Bighorns fans.
The game went back and forth throughout, keeping the crowd engaged during the 15 lead changes. Both teams were efficient shooting the ball, but it was the Jam's 50 percent shooting on three-pointers that was the difference in the game.
Taj McCullough played well for the Bighorns, scoring 14 points and gathering 7 rebounds. Cedric Bozeman finished with 21 points. The Bighorns play their next game in Reno on Friday, December 9th against head coach Del Harris and the Texas Legends.
Season and group ticket packages are on sale today. Groups can experience one of the many Fan Experience Packages, including playing a game on the Bighorns court or performing a routine at halftime of a game. For more information call (775)853-8220 or visit RenoBighorns.com.
