The new relationship expands upon the long-standing partnership Cleveland Clinic and the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers have enjoyed for 29 seasons. Cleveland Clinic will provide medical services for all Charge athletes, and as part of the recent move to Cleveland, the Charge is now able to utilize nearby Cleveland Clinic Courts as their practice, training and development center as well.

With 205 of the 500 NBA players having played in the G League, and every NBA team having at least three players with G League experience on their roster, the G League's role and importance within the NBA development landscape continues to expand. The G League had three players selected during the 2021 NBA Draft this summer (Round 1 #2 Jalen Green, Round 1 #7 Jonathan Kuminga and Round 2 #1 Isaiah Todd).
