Cf Montréal Exercises Wilfried Nancy's Option for 2022
May 28, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - CF Montréal announced on Friday that it has exercised its option on head coach Wilfried Nancy's contract for the 2022 season.
"I'm making this decision now because I see the work he puts in every day, the playing philosophy during games, as well as the relationship between the players and the coaching staff, which has been very positive since day one," declared CF Montréal sporting director Olivier Renard. "I am confident for the future."
Nancy, 44, has been at the Club's helm since March 8. Previously, he had been a first team assistant coach since January 7, 2016. He was notably part of the coaching groups that won the Canadian Championship in 2019 and led the team to the playoffs in 2016 and 2020.
CF Montréal will play its next game this Saturday, against the Chicago Fire, at 1 p.m. EDT (TVA Sports, TSN, 91.9 Sports, TSN 690), at Soldier Field, Chicago, Illinois.
