
Celtics Reassign Giddens To Utah Flash

PROVO, Utah, Feb. 5, 2009 - The Boston Celtics announced today that they have reassigned rookie guard J.R. Giddens to their NBA Development League affiliate Utah Flash. This is the second time this season that Giddens has been assigned to Utah.
Selected in the first round (30th overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft, Giddens appeared in 12 games for the Flash averaging 17.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.46 steals, and 1.7 blocks in 37.8 minutes per game. Giddens was ranked 20th in the NBADL in scoring at the time of his recall on January 8.
The 2008 Co-Mountain West Conference Player of the Year as a senior at New Mexico, Giddens is expected to be in uniform for the Flash when the Los Angeles D-Fenders visit the McKay Events Center on Friday.
Giddens will be wearing jersey number 15 when the Flash and D-Fenders tip off at 7 p.m. MT. Tickets are available by calling 801-434-HOOP (4667).
