ERIE - The NBA Development League, Erie BayHawks teamed with ERIEBANK staffers to brave the cold and help consumers ease the pain at the pump. ERIEBANK staffers along with BayHawk players and Clutch, the BayHawks mascot, distributed free gas cards and BayHawks tickets as a random act of kindness to unsuspecting consumers, at the Country Fair Location at 2617 West 26th Street.

A steady stream of customers and BayHawks fans snapped up the gas cards and tickets within 30 minutes of the start of the promotion.

"Both ERIEBANK and the BayHawks organization strive to have a positive impact on the Erie community in any number of ways," said Dave Zimmer, president of ERIEBANK. "In spite of the cold temperatures, we thought this was a great opportunity to work together with the BayHawks and lend a direct, helping hand to people in our community."

BayHawks players Jackie Manuel, Jarvis Gunter, Darian Townes, and Tejay Anderson along with ERIEBANK staffers were on hand to pump gas, sign autographs and take pictures with the unsuspecting recipients of the gas cards and tickets who pulled in at the pumps.

Consumers should be on the lookout for future random acts of kindness from ERIEBANK and the Erie BayHawks with plans in the works for future endeavors to ease the pain at the pump.
