ALBUQUERQUE'S WILL CONROY AND UTAH'S DONTELL JEFFERSON NAMED NBA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE CO-PLAYERS OF THE MONTH

Will Conroy of the Albuquerque Thunderbirds and Dontell Jefferson of the Utah Flash have been named NBA Development League Co-Players of the Month for games played in January.

In 13 games for Albuquerque, Conroy, a 6-2 guard, averaged 26.7 points, 8.2 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals while leading the Thunderbirds to a 10-3 record. During the month Conroy scored in double digits in all 13 games, posting six double-doubles (points/assists) while shooting 50 percent (119-of-240) from the field and 29-of-79 (.367) from behind the three point line.

Jefferson competed in 11 games for the Flash during December and averaged 21.4 points, 6.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals while shooting 46 percent (81-of-177) from the floor. During the month, Utah posted a record of 8-3 while Jefferson scored a season-high 38 points on Jan. 26 against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Also receiving consideration for NBA D-League Player of the Month for January was Austin's Malik Hairston, Iowa's Othyus Jeffers, Bakersfield's Trey Johnson and Anaheim's James White.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Wednesday's games

v BayHawks forward Erik Daniels had a statement making game, with a game high 26 points, notching his league leading 20th double-double with 12 rebounds and just missing the triple-double with 9 assists. Maureece Rice tallied 22; Ivan Harris had 15, Cliff Clinkscales 14, Oliver Lafayette 12, and Jackie Manuel and Darian Townes rounding out the BayHawks in double figures with 10 each.

v Kevin Burleson and Jamaal Tatum came off the bench to lead the Stampede's only offensive spark chipping in 17 and 15 points respectively.

v Point guard Eddie Gill and D-League All-Star Josh Davis led the way for Colorado, with each player posting a double-double in the win. Gill had 18 points, five rebounds, and 12 assists while Davis posted 23 points and 11 boards in the win.

v Pops Mensah-Bonsu had a game-high 31 points for the Toros, while Marcus Williams added 30 with 13 rebounds and nine assists.

ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS: A look at D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games:

22 players with D-League experience competed in 9 NBA games last night, five as starters.

v Starting for Golden State, Kelenna Azubuike scored 25 points as the Warriors defeated the Suns 124-112.

v As a starter for the Orlando Magic, Anthony Johnson scored 25 points in 27 minutes of play.

v Brandon Bass contributed 19 points off the bench for the Dallas Mavericks.

v Devin Brown, of the New Orleans Hornets, recorded 17 points and dished seven assists in last night's action.

v Houston's Rafer Alston finished with 15 points and added six assists as a starter.

v Denver's Chris Anderson tallied 12 points and seven rebounds. Teammate Dahntay Jones added seven points and five rebounds.
