Augusta, GA - The South Atlantic League announced today that Augusta GreenJackets second baseman Ryan Cavan has been named as the league's Player of the Week for the week running from June 21-27. He's the first GreenJackets player this season to earn either Player or Pitcher of the Week honors.

With a 9-19 effort at the plate, Cavan hit .474 with three doubles and two home runs. A switch-hitter, Cavan's home runs came in back-to-back nights from both sides of the plate in Kannapolis. He drove in six runs and scored seven times during the week.

Hickory's Robert Erlin won Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing six shutout, no-hit innings for the Crawdads this week and striking out eight in a victory.

The GreenJackets wrap up a five-game series tonight in Kannapolis and return home for a five-game series with the Charleston RiverDogs beginning Tuesday night. All five games will start at 7:05 p.m. with Fireworks to follow the series finale on Saturday. Fans can purchase seats to every home game by calling 706-922-WINS or online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com.
