Cava Goes On Injured Reserve

BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL announced today that defenseman Chris Cava (CAH-vah) has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve.

Cava, 23, has three goals, five points, +3 and 162 penalty minutes in 43 games this season. The 6-foot and 200-pound Cava was acquired in a trade with the Roanoke Express on August 15, 2002 and played his 100th career Sea Wolves game on Friday against Texas. A native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Cava is in his third full season of professional hockey and second year with Mississippi.

The Sea Wolves get back into action at 7:05 p.m. on Friday against the Louisiana IceGators at the Cajundome in Lafayette. The broadcast starts at 7:20 p.m. with the Nextel Pregame Show on ESPN Radio WXBD-AM 1490 and online at msseawolves.com.

Mississippi's next home game is at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2 against the Pensacola Ice Pilots at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. This is a rescheduled game from January 17. All tickets for January 17 will be honored. Game coverage can be heard at 6:20 p.m. with the Nextel Pregame Show on ESPN Radio WXBD-AM 1490 and online at msseawolves.com.
