
Cats Sweep Blue Anchors With Blowout Win

Thunder Bay Border Cats News Release
The Thunder Bay Border Cats ended their second homestand of the year with a bang. Thunder Bay swept the Alexandria Blue Anchors 14-1 Saturday Night at TbayTel Park to improve their record to 5-1 at home.
Returning pitcher Yuji Suzuki (Concordia - St. Paul) started the game allowing seven hits and only one run with four strikeouts over 7.1 innings. Mikael Mogues (Seton Hall), who has been dubbed the Border Cats very own "Big Poppy" by the local fans closed out the last 1.2 innings allowing no hits and notching three strikeouts.
With five Border Cats contributing multiple runs Thunder Bay's own Carter McEachern (Trinity University) lead the way with three runs and two RBI's. Alan Baldwin (University of Hawaii) produced two runs and three RBI's, while Matt Batten (Quinnipiac University), Jared James (Long Beach State) and Grant McKown (Florida Tech) also put up double digit stats.
The Cats begin another road trip against the Rochester Honkers Sunday afternoon at 2:05pm EST / 1:05pm CST.
