Tim Bits 20th Anniversary Weekend:
The Moncton Coliseum will be the site of the most continuous hockey action of the season this weekend when the 20th Annual Tim Horton's Timbits Hockey tournament takes place. 87 teams from South Eastern New Brunswick will take part in the event which starts Friday afternoon and runs through to Sunday.
There will be a parade of champions on Saturday night in the second intermission of the Wildcats game against Acadie-Bathurst and another Sunday afternoon during the game with Halifax.
The concept of Tim Bits hockey began 20 years ago in Riverview, when franchise owner Gary O'Neil provided sweaters for his son Cory's mini-mite team.
Today there are over 60,000 children ages 5-8 playing Timbits hockey in both Canada and the United States.
Be sure to be in the stands for the heart warming parades on Saturday and Sunday get your tickets at the Box Office at 506-857-4100 or on line at www.moncton-wildcats.com.
Doors will open at 6. Why not come early and enjoy a pre-game meal or snack at Legends Restaurant behind section 16, they open two hours before each home game.

In last Thursday's game, the Cats picked up 4 points, 3 for the sellout and one for a tie at the end of regulation play in the Rivalry Cup competition. The Sea Dogs got a point for the Mascot Challenge; don't be discourage Wild Willie, and two points for the win. Going into Wednesday Round Five of the Rivalry Cup at Harbour Station, (postponed because of Saturday's storm), both teams have 8.5 points.
At Tuesday night's make up game against Val d'Or, the 50/50 totaled $2738.00. The winner of $1369.00 was Todd Robinson. The year to date total has reached $100,135.00
In the last two games, attendance totaled 9809 brining the total for the year to 80,329.
Wildcats support Ted Nolan Foundation fundraising lunch:
The Wildcats are one of the many sponsors of the Ted Nolan Foundation fundraising luncheon set for tomorrow at the Delta Beausejour at noon. Ted, who coached the Cats to their first ever President Cup league title in 2006 will be the featured speaker. The aim is to raise funds to support two $4,000.00 scholarships for Aboriginal women in New Brunswick. There will be a silent auction starting at 11 with a large selection of hockey memorabilia up for grabs. Tickets are $75.00 each or $750.00 for a table of 10. To book your seat at this special event call 1-877- 304-6652. As of Wednesday over 400 tickets have been sold but there's still room for more and tickets will be available at the door for late comers.
Cats at Caring Kitchen:
Players and staff of the Wildcats will be taking on another role on Monday when they serve lunch to over 300 of Moncton's most needy people who are unable to provide themselves with a hot noon-time meal.
Another Coffee Cup winner: Tim Redmond is the latest Coffee Cup reader to win a pair of tickets to Saturday's game against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. He identified Danny Flynn, as the winner of the Coach of the Year in the QMJHL last season. Here's today's question: What member of the Wildcats coaching staff was captain of Canada's Olympic team in 1994?
