Kabanov waits medical evaluation:

Left winger Kirill Kabanov missed the Wildcats Friday night game against Halifax after aggravating an old wrist injury. He's been fitted with a working cast and is awaiting further medical evaluation. His playing status is listed day to day. Kirill spent yesterday morning visiting a number of Downtown Moncton businesses urging them to support Charity Bear night.

Friday is Charity Bear night:

Look for littered ice when the Wildcats scored their first goal against the PEI Rocket on Friday night. It's Charity Bear night sponsored by Medavie Blue Cross. Fans are asked to bring a bear or stuffed toy to the game or to pick one up for a donation at the Wildcats entrance at the Coliseum. The annual Holiday event will see volunteers collect the toys which will be distributed to local charities including members of the Greater Moncton Progress Club for their Antler Breakfast.

Special donations in pre-game on Friday:

The pre-game activities on Friday night will include the presentation of two donations from Wildcats events. The Atlantic Division of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation will receive the proceeds form the Pink-in-the-Rink campaign. Over $120,000.00 has been raised by the 18 teams in the QMJHL word is the Wildcats donation will exceed the League average. Mobile One will receive a donation from the Pumpkin Carving contest held at the end of October. By the way, check our website for staff photos from BOOO night.

Torch bearers at Sunday's game:

A number of local bearers of the Olympic Torch will be at centre ice for Sunday's game against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. There will be prizes for fans dressed in Team Canada colors, so come looking your Canadian best.

Cats congratulate Purple Knights:

The Wildcats want to pass on their congratulations to the Moncton High Purple Knights who captured the New Brunswick High School Football championship on Saturday afternoon. The Knights under the direction of head coach John Allanach defeated the other provincial finalist, the Harrison Trimble Trojans 43-21 in front of over 5,000 fans at Rocky Stone Memorial Field. A good Knights work guys. A doff of the Wildcats cap to both teams for an outstanding season.

More Congrats:

Wild Willie and a number of Wildcats fans were on hand Sunday to pass along best wishes to Hillside Baptist Church on their expansion and open house. The event drew a large crowd and is applauded by the Cats.

Rallye Motors Vees to Quebec tournament:

It will be the thrill of a lifetime for the members of the Rallye Motors Vees who will represent the Wildcats at the world famous Quebec City Pee Wee tournament during the annual Winter Carnival next February. The Vees went undefeated last weekend in winning the Buster Harvey Memorial tournament in Fredericton.

Cat of the Day:

Right winger Jerome Samson spent three years with the Wildcats and was known as the Master of the Boards. One of the best two way players to wear the Wildcats jersey, Jerome is now in his third year with the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League. He's off to a great start this season with 6 goals and 11 assists after tallying 54 points last year.
