Saint John Sea Dogs News Release
SAINT JOHN, NB --- The Saint John Sea Dogs, in partnership with the Saint John Multicultural & Newcomers Resource Centre, are pleased to announce that next Sunday's home game versus the Quebec Remparts has been designated Multicultural Day at Harbour Station.
"We're very excited about this promotion," says Sea Dogs President Wayne Long. "The city of Saint John has a wonderful tradition of embracing and celebrating our cultural diversity and we're looking forward to honouring that tradition next Sunday."
Fans attending the Sea Dogs - Remparts game (Nov. 29, 4pm) will be treated to an eclectic mix of music from throughout the world. Several local cultural groups have been invited to help cultivate a festive atmosphere. Furthermore, the main concourse at Harbour Station will be decorated with an international flair, featuring flags from around the world. Several attendees are also planning to wear traditional dress representing their cultural background.
"This is a fantastic community partnership with the Saint John Sea Dogs," says Dr. Paul-Emile Chiasson, chair of the Saint John Multicultural & Newcomers Resource Centre. "What better way to introduce newcomers, especially youth, to Canadian culture, than to attend a hockey game in their adoptive city!"
"The entire event will be a celebration of Saint John's diverse cultural communities, centred on a hockey game, one of Canada's great traditions and a source of national pride," adds Luisa Montoya, project coordinator at the centre. "Through this great partnership with the Saint John Sea Dogs, some newcomers will have the opportunity to experience their first hockey game and to start developing a love for this great sport."
Tickets for the next Sunday's game are available at a discounted rate at the Saint John Multicultural & Newcomers Resource Centre (3rd floor, City Market Building, 47 Charlotte Street / Saint John, NB / E2L 2H8). Tickets are also available through the Saint John YM-YWCA (130 Broadview Avenue), Fortune Market (73 King Street), Great Wall Supermarket (229 Churchill Boulevard) and at the Taco Pica stand in the City Market.

Saint John's next home game is scheduled to take place on Friday, November 27 at 7:30pm against Drummondville.
