Catfish's Ragan Named SAL Pitcher of the Week

Columbus, Georgia- After striking out six batters in twelve innings, while only allowing one walk and a .143 average against, the Columbus Catfish's Jason Ragan was named the South Atlantic League's Pitcher of the Week. Ragan posted a 0.00 ERA in his first two starts, both against the Savannah Sand Gnats, while also earning wins for the Catfish in each outing.

Jason Ragan was signed as a non-drafted free agent on June 14, 2006 by the Tampa Bay Rays. The righty, who currently resides in Ponchatoula, Louisiana; was voted to the New York-Penn League's All-Star Team and finished seventh in the league with a 2.80 ERA last season. Ragan finished the 2007 season with a 5-6 record and 36 strikeouts in 64.1 innings pitched.
