(Brainerd Lakes Area) - Former Lunker Mike Kvasnicka continues to be one of the rising stars in the Astros organization.

Kvasnicka, the Minnesota product who was drafted 33rd overall by Houston in last year's draft, is currently playing with the Lexington Legends in the South Atlantic League. The Legends are the low Class-A affiliate of the Astros.

Through 74 games so far this season, Kvasnicka, the Legends everyday third baseman, is batting .273 with 3 home runs and 37 RBIs.

Kvasnicka played for the Lunkers in 2009 and hit .314 and led the team with 59 hits.

"It was great to watch Mike when he was a part of the Lunkers in 2009," said Lunkers General Manager Dustin Anaas. "I know he will continue to be successful as he works his way up to the Big Leagues, and he is already showing promise with Lexington this year.
