
Castillo's Big Night Fuels Captains to 5-3 Win

Lake County Captains News Release
(Dayton, OH) - Leonardo Castillo hit his first homerun of the season Wednesday Night, in the top of the fourth inning at Fifth Third Field in Dayton, Ohio. At that point in the game the Captains led 4-2. Castillo drove in another run in the top half of the sixth inning. His single put the Captains ahead 5-3.
In the top of the first Lake County had three straight singles and scored one run to nab the early lead. The score was 1-0 after the RBI by Bryson Myles. The Dragons answered in their half of the opening frame when they pushed a run across home plate on a groundout.
Dayton took the lead in the bottom of the second inning. Juan Silva scored on a sac fly by Junior Arias. The score was Dayton 2 and Lake County 1. The Captains re-took the lead in the top of the third. The Captains scored two runs highlighted by a Bryson Myles double. Myles finished with two RBI's on the evening. The score was 3-2 at the end of three innings.
Dayton got one more run in the ballgame when in the bottom in the fourth inning Ryan Wright homered to Left Field making the score 4-3 Lake County. The Captains got one more on the way in to get their ninth win on the season.
The Dragons starting pitcher RHP Justice French (3-2) took the loss. French pitched 5.0 Innings, allowing ten hits and five runs. Four of the five runs were earned. He walked one and struck out five and allowed the Homer to Leonardo Castillo. The bullpen for Dayton did not allow a run. They kept the Dragons in the ballgame, but the Dayton bats couldn't respond.
Felix Sterling (1-0) got the win for the Captains. Sterling's line was 5.1 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 1 HRA. Rob Nixon got the hold on the ballgame after twirling 2.2 IP allowing just two hits. Jeff Johnson got the save for the Captains his second on the season. Johnson pitched a perfect ninth striking out two Dragons to nail down the victory.
The Captains continue the road trip on Thursday Night in Dayton. Lake County will send LHP Elvis Araujo (0-4,2.49) to the mound against RHP Radhames Quezada (0-3, 2.88) for the Dragons. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00pm. This is Lake County's first trip to Dayton n the 2012 season.
