Burlington Bees News Release

BURLINGTON, Iowa (5/2/12) - The Burlington Bees (12-12) suffered another cancelled due to rain on Wednes- day. Wednesday night's game against the Quad Cities River Bandits (13-12) was postponed due to a poor playing surface. The Bees will play a doubleheader on Friday, May 4 at 5:30 p.m. to make up for the cancelled game.

Any fans that owned a ticket to Wednesday night's game can replace the ticket for any home game on the rest of the 2012 schedule.

Wednesday was supposed to feature game one of a three game series with the Quad Cities River Bandits. In- stead the Bees play game one on Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m. for Honor Roll Kids Day at Community Field. Wednesday's game is now scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday and a second game will be played thirty minutes after the first game ends.

The rain drenched Community Field on Wednesday, and due to a combination of humidity and a lack of sus- tained sunlight the field remained unplayable an hour before game time.

The rainout marks the second straight scheduled game to be cancelled or postponed for the Bees. On Monday night in Eastlake, Ohio, the Bees sent their leadoff hitter to the plate, but couldn't get past the first out of game three with the Lake County Captains. After dealing with a couple rain delays, the game was finally cancelled with no make-up game scheduled for the rest of the season.
